Glass Office Walls
Carlsbad Office Furniture provides glass office wall systems for businesses across San Diego County. We supply and coordinate installation of demountable glass walls, glass partitions, and modular wall systems for private offices, conference rooms, huddle rooms, and open floor plans. Our glass wall products range from single glazed frameless systems to double glazed acoustic walls, and we work with leading manufacturers including NxtWall, DIRTT, Sunline, and Global to match the right system to your space, your budget, and your timeline.

Whether you are building out a new office from a shell space or converting an existing layout, glass walls offer a modern, flexible alternative to traditional drywall construction. Every project includes free space planning to make sure the system fits your floor plan and meets your functional requirements before anything is ordered.
Types of Glass Wall Systems We Offer

We spec and install a wide range of glass wall configurations depending on what the project calls for.

Single glazed glass walls are the most common and most cost-effective option. A single pane of tempered glass is mounted in a slim aluminum frame, creating a clean, modern partition that lets light pass through the entire office. These work well for private offices and conference rooms where visual openness is the priority and moderate sound separation is acceptable.

Double glazed glass walls use two panes of glass with an air gap between them. The air gap significantly improves acoustic performance, making these a strong choice for conference rooms, HR offices, and any space where private conversations happen regularly. Double glazed systems approach the sound rating of a well-insulated drywall partition while still allowing full light transmission.

Frameless glass walls offer a seamless, all-glass look with minimal visible hardware. The panels are typically floor-to-ceiling with low-profile top and bottom rails and no vertical mullions between panels. This creates the most open, uninterrupted aesthetic and works especially well in executive offices and high-end corporate environments.

Solid and glass combination walls mix glass panels with solid panels, fabric-wrapped panels, or whiteboard surfaces within the same system. This gives you flexibility to create privacy where you need it while keeping the open feel of glass everywhere else. Many of our manufacturers offer this as a standard configuration option.

Sliding glass doors and pivot doors can be integrated into any of these systems. Sliding doors are popular for conference rooms because they do not require swing clearance, which saves space and keeps the hallway clean.

Why Demountable Glass Walls

The word "demountable" is the key difference between glass wall systems and traditional construction. Demountable walls are engineered to be installed, removed, and reconfigured without any damage to the floor, ceiling, or surrounding structure. No drywall dust, no repainting, no patching.

This matters for a few reasons. If your company grows and you need to add an office, you can reconfigure the walls instead of demolishing and rebuilding. If you move to a different suite or building, you can take the walls with you. And if your lease ends, you can remove the walls and return the space to its original condition without any restoration costs.

Demountable walls also qualify for Section 179 accelerated depreciation under IRS guidelines. Because they are classified as personal property rather than real property, you can deduct the full purchase price in the year of installation instead of depreciating over 39 years like drywall. For a $40,000 glass wall project, that is a significant tax advantage. We always recommend talking to your CPA about this, but it frequently changes the cost comparison between glass and drywall.

Acoustics and Privacy

Sound performance varies by system and configuration. Single glazed walls with proper perimeter seals typically achieve an STC rating in the mid-30s, which is adequate for general private offices and everyday phone calls. Double glazed systems with an air gap push into the low-to-mid 40s, which is comparable to standard drywall construction and suitable for most conference rooms and private meetings.

For spaces that require visual privacy without sacrificing light, we offer frosted glass, gradient film, switchable privacy glass, and custom graphics or branding applied directly to the glass. You can have a fully enclosed office that still lets natural light flow through the space.

Manufacturers We Work With

We are not limited to a single glass wall brand. We work with multiple manufacturers so we can match the right product to the right project.

NxtWall is one of our primary glass wall partners. They manufacture demountable wall systems in a range of configurations including all-glass, glass and solid, and full solid panels. Their system is designed for fast installation with minimal disruption.

DIRTT is a technology-driven manufacturer that uses 3D modeling to prefabricate custom wall solutions. DIRTT walls are built to exact specifications in their factory and arrive ready to install, which reduces on-site construction time significantly.
Sunline offers clean, modern glass wall systems with an emphasis on simplicity and affordability. Their products work well for companies that want the look and flexibility of glass walls at a mid-range price point.

Global Furniture Group provides integrated wall and furniture solutions, allowing us to coordinate glass walls with workstations, private office furniture, and storage within a single manufacturer ecosystem.

MetWall and other specialty manufacturers round out our offering for projects with unique requirements, custom finishes, or specific acoustic targets.

Applications

Glass walls work in virtually any commercial environment. The projects we handle most often in San Diego include private offices where natural light and a modern aesthetic matter, conference rooms and boardrooms that need acoustic separation without feeling closed off, huddle rooms and small meeting spaces carved out of open floor plans, executive suites where the look and feel of the space reflects the company's brand, and reception areas and lobbies where glass creates a sense of openness and professionalism.

We also install glass walls in medical offices, law firms, coworking spaces, and tech companies throughout North County and greater San Diego.

Our Process

Every glass wall project starts with a consultation. We visit your space (or work from your architectural drawings), discuss your goals, and recommend a system that fits. From there, we create a detailed floor plan showing wall placement, door locations, and how the glass integrates with your furniture layout.

Once the design is approved, we provide a full quote covering product, delivery, and installation. Our installation teams handle the entire process, and most glass wall projects can be completed in a fraction of the time it takes to build traditional drywall offices.
