How Our Design Process Works

​

Every project starts with a conversation. We want to understand how your team works, what your space looks like, and what you are trying to accomplish. From there, we take measurements (or work from your existing floor plan) and begin developing a layout that fits your workflow, your headcount, and your budget. â€‹â€‹

Here is what that process looks like from start to finish:

We start with a consultation, either in our design center, on-site or over the phone, to learn about your business, your team size, how you use your space, and what is working or not working today. If you have a floor plan or architectural drawings, we will work from those. If not, we will come measure your space and create one.

 

Next, we create a space plan. This is a scaled floor plan showing exactly where every desk, chair, workstation, conference table, and storage piece will go. You will see aisle widths, clearances, and how the room flows before anything is ordered. We revise the layout until it is right.

 

Once the layout is approved, we move into furniture specification. We recommend specific products, manufacturers, sizes, and finishes based on your budget, your timeline, and the look you are going for. We work with over 60 commercial furniture manufacturers, so we are not limited to one brand or price point.

 

Before you commit, we provide a detailed quote with product descriptions, quantities, finishes, and pricing. No surprises, no hidden fees. After approval, we coordinate delivery and professional installation. Our install teams handle everything from unpacking and assembly to final placement and cleanup. You walk into a finished office.

What We Design

We design every type of commercial workspace. Most of our projects in San Diego fall into a few common categories, but we are comfortable working on just about anything.

 

Private offices are where we often start. Whether it is a single executive office or a suite of ten, we help select desks, credenzas, storage, and seating that fit the room and the person using it. We pay attention to things like monitor placement, storage needs, guest seating, and how the office feels when a client walks in.

 

Open office layouts and workstation planning make up a big part of our work. We design benching systems, cubicle configurations, and team clusters that balance collaboration with focus. Getting the density right matters because too tight and people are miserable, too spread out and you are wasting rent.

 

Conference rooms are one of the highest-impact spaces in any office. We help you choose the right table size for the room, select chairs that are comfortable for long meetings, and plan for power, data, and AV integration.

 

We also design breakrooms and cafe spaces, reception areas and lobbies, outdoor areas, training rooms and flex spaces, healthcare and medical offices, and laboratory environments. If it is a commercial space with furniture in it, we can help.

We are not locked into a single manufacturer or product line. We work with over 60 commercial furniture brands, which means we can match the right product to your budget and your design goals. Some of the manufacturers we specify most often include DeskMakers, SitOnIt Seating, Friant, Tayco, 9to5 Seating, and Global Furniture Group, but our full vendor list runs much deeper than that.

 

If you have seen something you like from a specific brand or on a specific project, let us know. There is a good chance we carry it or can source something comparable.
